PROSTHODONTICS
Fixed prosthesis can be crowns or bridges and aim to reproduce as close as possible the look of a natural dentition.
These dental pieces are created in the clinic's lab and are screwed onto the implants or placed over the tooth’s root; these cannot be removed by the patient.
A dental implant works like an artificial root, is made of titanium and is placed in one of the jaws, to support dental crowns.
A crown is the visible part, which can be placed on an implant or on a natural tooth root, which will replace a tooth.
The average time between placing an implant and a crown is 3 months. This is the time it takes to form bone around the implant.
This is not a common occurrence but, should it happen to you, contact one of our clinics and make an appointment with your dentist.
